Repeating Geometry 01 3ds max, mental ray March 2009
I was watching TV last night, and caught an episode of Star Trek : Enterprise. The glass door to the brig had this really cool repeating geometric pattern that I thought looked really cool. Modeled from pure poly modeling, no meshsmooth. The pattern is made up of tileable sections. The image on the left is deformed by a Noise World Space Deformer. The renders use mental ray's Carpaint Shader. Style was inspired by Paul Sherstobitoff's renderings on the Brazil r/s website.
